A new high quality windshield Glass Installed in under an hour and at a very reasonable cost.
Today I had a very pleasant experience with a shop in San Frenando Valley, CA that replaced the Windshield in my truck while I waited and it was over in around 45 minutes start to finish.
The office lady who answered the phone was very polite to speak with. I told her my windshield was broken and needs a replacement and what was the cost in full. This lady, asked me some question and then gave me the price of a replacement windshield. She told me the full cost to have a New Windshield Installed in my 2010 Toyota Tacoma was $165.00 out the door.
When my windshield first cracked by a rock while driving on the freeway, I stopped and get some Super Glue and put it all over the crack to keep it from splitting any worst at that time, that glue held it from splitting any further for over 1 ½ years.
That crack was more like a little crater the size of a dime and then on June 21st it snapped all the way across from the small crater to the far right side.
As soon as I arrived at the C&S, they had an open stall for my truck to be repaired in, I was guided into the stall and I left the key in the ignition.
The Technician came over to the truck and started his work by removing the Rear View Mirror from off the inside of the glass, he then went to the outside glass trim and carefully removed those parts, next he was careful to separate the glass from the window frame not to break the glass any worst but to make use nothing was damaged and then the broken glass was carefully removed. After disposal of the old broken glass, he started cleaning the base where the new glass will sit.
After cleaning the truck frame where the glass sits on the truck at, he cleaned the glass on both sides and after he cleaned the glass and double checked it for perfection. Next, he used two special glass lifting tools and attached them to the glass. The technician then lifted the glass and brough it over to the truck where another helper was there to help him hold and steady the glass while he made sure it was sitting on the frame perfect Squair. I also observed, he and the helper were very careful not to touch my truck hood, even though they had already placed a thick blanket over the hood to protect it. They continued to be very careful with the installation and that was followed by installing the trim around the windshield. This was followed by the technician applying a Special Holding Tape around the glass I will remove tomorrow. This Holding Tape is there to ensure a good solid tight seal and will stay for 24 hours before removal and that’s it, this Blue Tape by the way will also help keep dirt from getting onto the new adhesive/seal until it dries.
The job took approximately 45 minutes from the time I pulled in until the time I pulled out. I was in and out the door and very well please again. The job was clean and high quality.
I do not normally recommend any repair shop but over the last 30 years this shop has done many glass replacement jobs for me and the customers I have sent there, so this time in hope to help save others as much as several hundred dollars on a new windshield I want to let other know about this good service I got at a low cost to me.
Before I went to C&S Auto Glass shop, I went on-line to a mobile glass company to see what they would charge for a new windshield installed.
There advertisement was $151.00 for a new windshield installed but in small print under that was the $151 was one payment and there would be 3 more payment meaning the glass was over $600.00.
Than may be a good deal for some but I am sort of like many, not able to pay that much right now so I looked for a more reasonable place. I remember a few years back when I works as a Mobile mechanic, I used different shops for parts or sub work, that when I remember C&S Auto Glass service and this small shop was one that I used many times.
For much less I got the very same high-quality glass from C&S installed on my Truck, at a total of $165.00 not $600 plus dollars for the same repair done by a Mobile Service, I saved over $430.00 today.
Folks, as a business owner for 44 years and a Certified Technician on Boats, Trucks, Cars Diesel and Gas. By the grace of God, I have never had a bad complaint from BBB, I recommend this shop for high quality work and Glass for your vehicle, there worth the call for a price.
